Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking a Music Specialist to join our Junior School (Primary-level equivalent) from April 2026.
This is a student-facing role, working closely with children, music teachers and ensembles across the Junior School. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting music lessons, rehearsals and performances, with a particular emphasis on piano accompaniment.
Strong proficiency in piano is essential, including the ability to accompany students confidently for rehearsals, assemblies and performances. The ability to sight-read classical and choral repertoire will be a significant advantage.
This role would suit a skilled and enthusiastic musician who enjoys working with children, collaborating as part of a team and contributing to the vibrant musical life of a leading international school.
Support music lessons and rehearsals across the Junior School, under the guidance of the Head of Junior School Music
Accompany students on the piano for rehearsals, assemblies, concerts and other performances
Work with small groups, ensembles and CCAs, supporting musical development and confidence
Support school concerts, performances and music events, including after-school or lunchtime rehearsals
Contribute to a positive, inclusive and inspiring musical environment for all students
Collaboration and shared organisation
Work collaboratively with music staff to support the smooth running of the Music Department
Share responsibility for the care, organisation and issuing of musical instruments and resources
Support event preparation, including basic set-up and coordination, alongside colleagues
Communicate effectively with teachers, students and parents as appropriate
Pastoral care and school life
Support the wellbeing and pastoral care of students in line with school policies
Model positive behaviour and act as a role model for children
Participate in the wider life of the Junior School, including concerts, CCAs and school events
Undertake supervisory duties as directed
Professional responsibilities
Engage in professional learning and training opportunities
Attend relevant meetings and contribute positively to team discussions
Comply with all College policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and confidentiality
Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Director of Music, Head of Junior School Music or Head of Junior School
Essential
Strong proficiency in piano performance and accompaniment
Confidence accompanying students for rehearsals and performances
Formal music qualifications (degree or graded examinations)
A genuine enjoyment of working with children
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A collaborative, flexible and positive approach to working in a school environment
Desirable
Ability to sight-read classical and choral repertoire
Experience supporting music education in a school or similar setting
Experience working with ensembles, choirs or CCAs
Experience with a range of musical styles or instruments
