Job description

At Tzu Chi, stories are more than just narratives—they are instruments of change. As a registered IPC charity, our work spans charity, medicine, education, and humanistic culture, and we use multimedia storytelling to bring these missions to life.

We’re looking for a Video Content Creator to craft impactful, human-centered video stories that showcase the spirit of compassion in action. From scripting to post-production, your work will give voice to transformation, kindness, and resilience across our communities and platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Idea & Concept Development
    • Monitor news, local culture, and Tzu Chi international updates to generate timely video concepts.
    • Propose and pitch video ideas aligned with Tzu Chi’s values and mission pillars.
  2. Research & Planning
    • Conduct case research and interviews, collaborating with the team to shape compelling storylines.
    • Draft project proposals, shooting plans, timelines, and budgets.
    • Coordinate approvals, authorizations, and permissions for filming.
  3. Interviewing & Production Coordination
    • Conduct on-camera or off-camera interviews to capture authentic voices.
    • Adapt to spontaneous field conditions; comfortable working independently or in teams.
    • Support on-location execution: filming interviews, B-roll, event coverage, etc.
  4. Script & Post Production
    • Prepare clear scripts and editing guidelines to support the video editing.
    • Collaborate with the team to ensure the final video reflects the intended story and tone.
  5. Cross Platform Adaptation
    • Convert videos into short articles, infographics, or motion graphic content for social media and digital platforms.
    • Collaborate with digital outreach team to tailor content formats and optimize based on platform analytics.
  6. Review, Archiving & Compliance
    • Review completed videos for quality and mission alignment; compile post-project reports with key insights.
    • Maintain organized archives of interview notes, footage, and approvals; ensure all content meets branding, privacy, and ethical standards.
  7. Others
    • Perform additional relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor to support the team and projects.
Requirements & Qualifications
  1. Degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, Media, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (fresh graduates with strong portfolios are welcome).
  3. Fluent in Chinese, with working proficiency in English.
  4. Proficient in video production and editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
  5. Good interpersonal and interviewing skills; able to work independently on field assignments.
  6. Flexibility to support weekend shoots or urgent assignments when needed.
  7. Collaborative mindset and a respectful, inclusive approach to teamwork.
  8. Bonus: Experience with on-camera hosting or live interviewing.
