Job description

Introduction

Develop and publish Design Manual (DM) specifications for GF customers. The DM is one of GF’s most critical deliverables, serving as a cornerstone of collaboration with our clients. As part of the DM team, you will be at the intersection of multiple disciplines, coordinating inputs from diverse teams and ensuring timely implementation. Beyond publishing specifications, the team also creates and maintains Design Rules that balance technological innovation, manufacturing capabilities, and business requirements. These Design Rules are meticulously engineered and rigorously qualified to guarantee both the competitiveness and manufacturability of GF’s cutting-edge technologies. Joining this team means playing a pivotal role in shaping the standards that drive our success and our customers’ confidence.

Your Job

• Deliver high-quality Design Manuals (DMs) and provide comprehensive design support to customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process, device, reliability, and design enablement) to develop, evaluate, and validate technology design rules and Boolean operations.
• Develop and maintain Boolean decks for converting design layers into manufacturing mask layers using Calibre SVRF.
• Create and maintain mini DRC decks to enable physical design rule evaluation and verification.
• Design and implement layout Design of Experiments (DoE) and develop test structures to validate design rules on silicon.
• Perform in-depth silicon data analysis and drive design rule enhancements based on insights to optimize GF technologies.

Other Responsibilities

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Solid‑State Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in semiconductor industry, focusing on device, process integration, or EDA.
• Strong knowledge of design tools, physical layout design, and design/process interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics, process technology, and design rule development.
• Proficiency in programming (e.g., scripting for automation) is a plus.
