Position Overview

The MS&T DSP Scientist supports downstream process development, technology transfer, and validation readiness within the MS&T laboratory. The role involves planning and executing small- and pilot-scale DSP studies, performing purification experiments, and supporting lifecycle and tech transfer activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support DSP technical transfer activities from external partners into the MS&T DSP laboratory.
  • Plan and execute small- and pilot-scale downstream purification studies, including process characterization and optimization.
  • Perform chromatography, filtration, clarification, and related DSP unit operations.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory instructions, experimental records, and equipment documentation.
  • Support qualification, calibration, and maintenance of DSP lab and pilot equipment.
  • Manage procurement and inventory of chemicals and consumables for DSP studies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to DSP laboratory workflows and processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with GxP, SOPs, HSE, and company laboratory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and experimental data for review, storage, and archiving.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biologics, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-8 years of hands‑on DSP experience in a biopharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of downstream purification methods and laboratory‑scale DSP unit operations.
  • Good communication, documentation, and scientific problem‑solving skills.
