Job summary

Soitec Singapore seeks an MTBE Equipment Technologist/Technician (T2) to maintain and repair semiconductor manufacturing equipment and the AMHS system. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, document activities, and ensure SOP and safety compliance while supporting production needs in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with equipment engineers and production teams to drive uptime improvements, participate in CIP and upgrades, and adapt quickly to changing priorities

Qualifications

• Diploma or Professional Certificate in Mechanical / Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Microelectronics.
• Know-how in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and automation systems with strong analytical skills.
• Team player with good communication and cross-stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience with metrology equipment and AMHS/OHT systems is advantageous.
• Adherence to EHS standards and safe working practices.
• Willingness to rotate 12-hour shifts for production support.

Responsibilities

Metrology/Backend (MTBE) Equipment Technologist/ Technician (T2)

• Build valuable technical expertise in semiconductor manufacturing by diagnosing equipment failures, conducting root cause analysis, and driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Gain exposure to advanced automation and smart manufacturing technologies, including robotics, material handling systems, and automated production environments.
• Build strong communication and teamwork skills by collaborating with Production, Engineering, vendors, and fellow technicians to support factory operations and improvement initiatives

What does the job consist?

• You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting semiconductor manufacturing equipment and the automated material handling system (AMHS) to ensure high equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, maintain accurate records and documentation, and adhere to established standard operating procedures (SOP), quality standards, safety requirements, and housekeeping practices.
• You will support equipment engineers in tool improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime, improving performance, and enhancing cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with departmental guidelines and corporate policies.
• There will be opportunities to participate in continuous improvement projects (CIP), equipment upgrades, process improvements, and reliability enhancement projects.
• You must possess a high degree of adaptability and initiative, with the ability to learn quickly and be capable of working independently with minimal guidance, as the role may require periods of autonomous work, strong problem-solving skills, and self-discipline.

Requirements & qualifications

• Possess a Diploma or Professional Certificate/NiTEC in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Microelectronics or equivalent.
• Possess knowledge in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A good team player with strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to collaborate across lateral and vertical stakeholders.
• Experience with metrology equipment for wafer particle inspection, thickness measurement, cleaning, sorting, packaging, and ICP-MS analysis, as well as AMHS equipment such as stockers and Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT) systems, will be an advantage.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements on work risks and safety precautions, including chemical hazards, working at heights, and maintaining a safe working environment.
• You are required to work 12-hour rotating shifts to provide operational support for production activities and ensure timely responses to equipment-related issues in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment.
