Job summary

A healthcare facility in Singapore is seeking a qualified professional to provide case management and individual psychodynamic therapy. The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Social Work and at least 2 years of experience in a mental health setting. Core responsibilities include conducting therapeutic groups and engaging in quality improvement initiatives. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Provide case management to patients who are receiving therapy from the psychodynamic service in Changi General Hospital.

  • Assist in the assessment of patients referred to the service.

  • Work with referring agencies and the Psychodynamic team.

  • Provide individual Psychodynamic Therapy for patients.

  • Conduct Psycho-education Groups and facilitate Therapeutic Groups, including but not limited to the CGH Options Group and Therapeutic Community.

  • Monitor the progress of patients in the service.

  • Work with the Psychodynamic Team and the Department of Psychological Medicine to enhance the provision of care to patients within the service.

  • Engage in quality improvement and research activities to generate new or applied knowledge for practice, develop protocols and standards in practice areas.

  • Engage in continual learning, professional sharing to stay current and relevant in practice.

  • Represent the department in inter-department and/or inter-agency work to provide MSW expertise as well as recommendations for patient care from the psychodynamic perspective.

  • Provide administrative support and assist the service director or his/her designate in the running of the service.

Requirements
  • Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work and Graduate Diploma or Master in Family Therapy;

  • At least 2 years of experience in healthcare or mental health setting; or

  • 2 years of specialist clinical work in social services sector

  • Preferably a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with Social Work Accreditation Board.

  • Good counselling and communication skills.
