ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing social work-based intervention, counselling and emotional support and other assistance to patients and families.
• Providing medical social service to patients and families to help them cope with social, psychological, financial issues resulting from an illness.
• Working with the Psychosocial Services team in identifying areas of needs and assists in the coordination of support programmes.
• Working with multi-disciplinary teams to provide holistic care for patients.
• Supervising social work undergraduates undergoing fieldwork placement.
• Supervising the work of social service assistants.
• Planning, organizing and coordination of support programmes

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree / Post graduate certificate in Social Work (or Major in Social Work).
• Practising Social Worker Accreditation by Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW).
• An average of 5 years relevant experience preferred.
• Good social case work intervention skills.
• Good counselling skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in word processor and spreadsheet programmes.
• Mentoring skills (if applicable).
