Job summary

A leading healthcare institution in Singapore seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform both routine and specialized laboratory tests in Haematology. Responsibilities include processing specimens, assisting Haematologists, optimizing test procedures, and troubleshooting equipment. Candidates should have a degree in Biomedical Science or related fields, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Extended hours may be necessary due to workload demands.

Qualifications

Job description
Medical Laboratory Technologist (Haematology - Morphology Section)

Perform duties in both routine and specialized laboratory tests on clinical samples in Haematology laboratory. Daily duties include processing of peripheral blood, bone marrow and body fluid specimens for various diagnostic tests within the laboratory.

Moreover, specialized test procedures such as producing bone marrow smears, preparing reagents required for different tests, and staining according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures as well as assisting Haematologists in reporting patient results are within the expected job scope of this position.

Other responsibilities may include equipment troubleshooting, when necessary, optimization of test procedures, quality assurance, and inventory management in compliance with our organization’s technical and safety guidelines.

Job Requirements
    <>Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or its equivalent.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in routine haematology lab with basic cells morphology will be an advantage.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team in challenging environment.
