Job summary

A leading inspection technology firm in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical & Support Engineer to design innovative inspection solutions. The role involves collaborating with global engineering teams and providing support to customers across the Asia Pacific region. Ideal candidates should have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, and a strong commitment to teamwork and problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in creating engineering drawings and computer-aided design for production.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an agile way to contribute to the successful delivery of inspection solutions.
  • Help to capture end-user requirements.
  • Evaluate desired outcomes and interpret into detailed drawings.
  • Monitor and report progress regularly and propose mitigations.

About the Job

Reporting to the reports directly to the Manager, S&I APAC, the Mechanical & Support Engineer works on complex technical projects requiring to design multiple customized mechanical parts aiming to be integrated with others parts, like robots or various automated platforms, to successfully deliver an inspection solutions to customers, mainly in Asia Pacific Region but potentially also in other regions.

The role will closely collaborate with the global S&I engineering and marketing teams to properly define preliminary mechanical concept and actively contribute to design review or technical brainstorming if required.

As a technical expert in systems engineering, the role will be directly involved in the support of customers for the inspections solutions we deliver in the Asia Pacific Region and might also participate to global development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in an agile way to contribute to the successful delivery of inspection solutions to end users across the Asia Pacific region and Globally.
  • Help to capture end-user requirements.
  • Evaluate the desired outcome and interpretate into a high-level concept and subsequently detailed Drawings that enables the project team to deliver projects in time budget independently.
  • Monitor and report progress to the project on a regular base, independently step forward in case of identifying additional risk and propose mitigations.
  • Submit and take the lead in getting approval via Evident document control system.
  • Develop high-quality, user-friendly automated solutions to meet end users’ Requirements.
  • Travel to end-user facilities across Asia Pacific to install and provide on-going technical support for inspection systems.
  • Provide remote support and troubleshooting to resolve end users’ issues.
  • Assist to continuously improve the S&I processes in APAC/Globally.
  • Assist to create a long-term vision and technology roadmap to address future automated inspection needs.
Formal Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
