We are hiring on behalf of our client:

Job Overview

You will provide support to the Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) to ensure the machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably of an integrated Hazardous Chemical Waste Treatment Facility and related infrastructure. The work typically involves planning, inspection, testing and commissioning, undertaking scheduled maintenance and responding to breakdowns by checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures including improvement and investment plan works.

Job Description
  • Coordinate and liaise with plant commissioning team on inspection, testing and repair of equipment under the maintenance team as necessary.
  • Responsible for managing the maintenance activities by directing and supervising a team of personnel including contractors, supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
  • Ensure the implementation of quality and safety procedures & policies, production reliability & efficiency.
  • Ensure best engineering practices by optimum use of manpower, interface & coordination with other departments regarding plant matters.
  • Assist on mechanical maintenance work planning and scheduling with the engineer.
  • Responsible for making individual job assignments and tracking the progress.
  • Ensure quality of work within the set time frame.
  • Register, control and maintain assets management in CMMS.
  • Ensure to maintain adequate inventories of tools, supplies and parts to accurately repair all equipment.
  • Able to work as mechanical fitter on levelling, alignment, grinding, cutting, welding and lifting jobs as necessary if required.
  • Able to work as millwright on service, repair and overhaul of common equipment such as pumps, blower, etc. as necessary if required.
  • Coordinate and liaise with contractors in supervision of statutory equipment inspection and testing at site.
  • Coordinate and liaise with piping, lifting, scaffolding, insulation, painting and refractory contractors in supervision of work at site.
  • Perform with maintenance employees along with other technical personnel, contractors to develop proactive and effective team working together to attain set objectives.
  • Provide job training and guidance to the workforce including MSRA where necessary.
  • Arrange site check, dimension measurement, etc. to assist the engineer on improvement, modification and investment plan works including estimate manpower, tools and equipment.
  • Assist manpower to storekeeper on preservation of stock items and inventory check as necessary.
  • Conduct routine 5S at maintenance workshop, store and work area at site.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Post secondary education or minimum 5 years of relevant working experience. Working experience in Chemical, Engineering Services or Marine industry is preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience in using AutoCAD and CMMS (Computerize Maintenance Management System) is an advantage.
  • Experience in refractory repair work is a bonus.
  • Willingness to work on weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
