Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Singapore is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities and ensure safe operations. Job description

You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance activities of the plant, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Comply with all health, safety and environment regulations and practices and work with management to address and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to prepare breakdown, preventive and shutdown maintenance plan, work schedules, and budget.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities with Production section.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meeting.
  • Review work permits applied by contractors before submitting to Production for approval.
  • Oversee all maintenance works including troubleshooting and ensure that work is properly completed safely and timely.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair costs to track performance, identify opportunity for improvements and forecast future maintenance needs.
  • Maintain adequate spare parts and equipment inventory and ensure their proper storage.
  • Inspect site to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Review and drive maintenance cost efficiency.
  • Provide guidance to the team members in identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessment reviews with contract workers to ensure relevance and compliance.
  • Liaise with professional engineer and service providers to conduct statutory equipment inspection and testing.
  • Lead and manage performance and development of mechanical team including technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Assign daily mechanical jobs and ensure the team adheres to project procedures, schedules, and safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • At least a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 8 years hands-on experience in chemical plant maintenance.
  • At least 5 years of Supervisory experience in a chemical plant environment.
  • Possess hands-on troubleshooting experience with chemical plant equipment and a solid understanding of maintenance technology.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes in the chemical industry.
  • Exhibit excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude towards driving work progress.
  • Planning experience with SAP or other CMMS is preferred.
