Qualifications

  • Valid Safety Orientation Course (SOC) certificates are advantageous.
  • Forklift / MEWP / Rigging certifications are advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in relevant facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in installation, retrofitting, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Comply with EHS procedures and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Skills

Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical schematics
Hands-on skills with mechanical alignment, torquing, and flange management
Knowledge of API/ASME standards and basic condition monitoring

Objective

Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment in a chemical/petrochemical facility, ensuring operational reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
    • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, etc.
    • Perform precision alignment, balancing, and overhauls per OEM standards.
    • Use diagnostic tools (e.g., vibration analyzers, ultrasonic detectors) for fault detection.
    • Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out root cause analysis and repairs.
  • Installation & Project Support
    • Assist in installation, retrofitting, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
    • Support mechanical tie-ins, turnarounds, and shutdown activities.
    • Interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs accurately.
  • Safety, Compliance & Documentation
    • Comply with EHS procedures (PTW, LOTO, CSE) and statutory regulations (MOM, SCDF, NEA).
    • Participate in JSA and toolbox meetings to ensure safe work practices.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS (e.g., SAP/eMaint) and report safety incidents promptly.
Requirements
  • Education & Certifications
    • NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • Valid Safety Orientation Course (SOC) certificates are advantageous.
    • Forklift / MEWP / Rigging certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience
    • 3‑5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas facility, preferably on Jurong Island.
    • Familiar with rotating equipment maintenance and piping systems.
  • Skills
    • Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical schematics.
    • Hands‑on skills with mechanical alignment, torquing, and flange management.
    • Knowledge of API/ASME standards and basic condition monitoring.
