As a Mechanical Engineer – Field Service (Lead) is a field‑based role which requires the incumbent to travel to customer sites across the APAC region to provide specialist installation and maintenance support as directed by the Resource Manager. The role will report to the Resource Manager for SEA region.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer – Field Service (Lead), you will be responsible for: Working with a team of Field Service Engineer with the direction from the Service Manager/Installation Manager/Site Manager/Lead Engineer on‑site technical direction.

  • Working in an Installation, Maintenance, Commissioning Site Activities with proper Customer/Company Schedule Targets Mindset following strictly Quality and HSE Rules.
  • Having experienced in Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivatives Gas Turbine (LM2500) /Heavy Duty Gas Turbines/Nuovo Pignone Compressors (BCL Compressors) /Pumps/Auxiliaries maintenance and services.
  • Utilizing Problem Solving Skills, Engineering Instructions, Drawings, and Process Instructions during Gas Turbines Commissioning and Start‑up Activities.
  • Possessing the Technical Capability to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for Gas Turbines Products.
  • Preparing of job‑planning documents based to Assignment’s Scope of Work and point of reference on site.

To be successful in this role you will:>

  • Have 5 yr of relevant experience with education in Engineering/ High School Technical Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Possess work experience in the Energy or Oil & Gas industry.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge on Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivates Turbine/Compressors/Auxiliaries installation & maintenance philosophy.
  • Have good customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Have proven ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Have awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and potential risks.

In this role, you will travel to and work on customer sites across the Asia‑Pacific Region in line with customer requirements.

The duration of the work at site and the hours of work at the site will be in line with customer requirements. In between work assignments, you will have free time in line with Baker Hughes working time guidelines and fatigue management provisions. You will also accrue annual leave which you can then take to extend your time off.
