Job description

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for server or network switch systems, including chassis, brackets, drive bays, and other structural elements.
• Create 3D models and 2D detailed drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Solid Edge).
• Perform tolerance analysis, structural analysis (FEA), acoustics, thermal analysis, design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and industrial design teams to integrate mechanical solutions effectively.
• Material evaluation for mechanical components.
• Build and test prototypes, conduct mechanical validation (e.g., shock, vibration, fit tests), and drive issue resolution.
• Work with manufacturing partners to support tooling development, first article inspection, and ramp-up.
• Contribute to failure analysis of mechanical components and systems.
• Create and maintain mechanical design documentation.
