Role Purpose
Responsible for the design, analysis, and integration of mechanical systems for the FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and international codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design Develop and review mechanical design deliverables for FPSO topside modules and hull systems. Prepare equipment specifications and datasheets for static and rotating equipment. Perform calculations for stress, thermal expansion, and mechanical integrity.
- Interface Coordination Collaborate with process, piping, structural, and instrumentation teams to ensure proper integration of mechanical systems. Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and 3D model checks.
- Vendor & Procurement Support Review vendor documents and provide technical clarifications. Support procurement by evaluating technical bids and ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to international standards (API, ASME, ISO) and project-specific requirements. Support audits and inspections related to mechanical systems.
- Project Support Assist in planning and scheduling of mechanical deliverables. Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for offshore or FPSO projects.
- Strong knowledge of static and rotating equipment design.
- Familiarity with engineering software (AutoCAD, Compress, Caesar II).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
