Job summary

NEXUSTEST PTE LTD, headquartered in Singapore, seeks a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team for optical and semiconductor test equipment. You will design precision mechanical structures, motion platforms, and associated tooling fixtures for high-speed optical modules and wafer testing.

You will perform structural, thermal, and vibration analyses, coordinate with machining suppliers, and deliver complete drawings and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Precision Instruments, or Mechatronics.
• 3–5 years of mechanical design experience in precision equipment or semiconductor industry.
• Experience with high-precision motion platforms and optical coupling design preferred.
• Bilingual in Chinese and English reading/writing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical structures for optical test equipment.
• Perform structural, thermal, and vibration simulations to ensure micron/nanometer alignment.
• Coordinate with machining suppliers, manage BOMs and drawings.
• Collaborate with commissioning team for prototype verification and optimization.
• Support Malaysia team in mass production mechanical improvements.

NEXUSTEST - Optical, Semiconductor Test

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the R&D and design of precision mechanical structures for optical communication automatic test equipment, including high-precision motion platforms, optical alignment mechanisms, temperature control modules, probe modules, complete machine structures and tooling fixtures.
• Conduct structural mechanics, thermal deformation and vibration simulation analysis to ensure micron to nanometer-level alignment accuracy and long-term operational stability of equipment.
• Coordinate with machining suppliers, follow up parts processing, prototype assembly and commissioning, resolve structural design and process issues, and deliver complete mechanical drawings, BOMs and assembly process documents.
• Cooperate with the commissioning and test teams to complete prototype performance verification and iteratively optimize mechanical design schemes.
• Support the Malaysia engineering team in mechanical process optimization and problem resolution during mass production stages.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Mechanical Design, Precision Instruments, Mechatronics and other related disciplines.
• Work Experience: 3-5 years of mechanical design experience in precision equipment or semiconductor equipment industry; experience in high-precision motion platform and optical coupling design is preferred.

Professional Skills

• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD and other design software; master the model selection and design of high-precision linear motors, air bearing platforms and visual alignment systems.
• Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on R&D experience in semiconductor probe stations, wafer test equipment and silicon photonics coupling stations.
• General Requirements: Fluent in both Chinese and English reading and writing, capable of communicating with overseas component suppliers, with good documentation habits.
