A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop systems such as HVAC and plumbing. The role involves collaboration with other engineers, site supervision, and ensuring compliance with local standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge in building services and be familiar with CAD software like AutoCAD and Revit.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Design and develop mechanical systems including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), plumbing, fire protection, and other building services.
Prepare and review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals in accordance with project requirements and codes.
Coordinate mechanical system layouts with electrical, structural, and architectural elements.
Collaborate with consultants, architects, and other engineers to ensure coordinated M&E designs.
Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and vendors for material selection and technical clarifications.
Attend site and coordination meetings with project stakeholders.
Supervise and inspect mechanical works on-site to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with specifications.
Monitor installation of HVAC, fire protection systems, plumbing/sanitary systems, and gas piping (if applicable).
Ensure that all mechanical installations are carried out according to approved shop drawings and relevant standards.
Assist in planning and execution of testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning phases.
Ensure proper documentation, including O&M manuals and as-built drawings for handover.
Ensure all works comply with local authority regulations, codes of practice, and safety standards (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, SS standards).
Keep up-to-date with new technologies, products, and industry best practices.
Monitor progress of mechanical works to ensure timely completion.
Assist in preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost estimation, and variation orders related to mechanical systems.
Maintain records of technical submissions, site inspections, progress reports, and non-conformance reports.
Report to the Project Manager or M&E Manager on work status, issues, and updates.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services systems.
Familiar with M&E drawings, CAD, and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
Understanding of local M&E codes and international standards.
Problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
