Material Engineer (Plastics and Composites)
Working Hours
Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development of advanced resin, plastic, and composite material systems.
- Participate hands‑on in the fabrication and characterization of prototypes, including the evaluation of mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize forming processes for plastics and composites.
- Support scale‑up activities for new material applications in industrial settings and work closely with material suppliers and production teams.
- Contribute to the creation of new intellectual properties (IPs) in the area of expertise.
- Provide technical support for short‑term overseas assignments related to process development.
Key Qualifications / Requirements
- PhD in Materials Engineering or a related field (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of resins, plastics, and composite materials, including fibre‑reinforced composites.
- Familiarity with plastic forming processes such as injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, or other relevant manufacturing methods.
- Understanding of plastic and composite forming equipment and process optimization is advantageous.
- Knowledge in sustainable materials such as recycled plastics, bioplastics, or biomass‑based materials will be an added advantage.
- Experience in material characterization (mechanical, thermal, physical/chemical, rheological properties).
- Hands‑on experience in prototype fabrication and testing for property and performance evaluation.
