The client is a world-renowned electronics manufacturing company headquartered in Taiwan, recognized as one of the largest technology solution providers globally. They are expanding their R&D presence in Singapore. The below position is open urgently.

Position

Material Engineer (Plastics and Composites)

Working Hours

Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and development of advanced resin, plastic, and composite material systems.
  • Participate hands‑on in the fabrication and characterization of prototypes, including the evaluation of mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize forming processes for plastics and composites.
  • Support scale‑up activities for new material applications in industrial settings and work closely with material suppliers and production teams.
  • Contribute to the creation of new intellectual properties (IPs) in the area of expertise.
  • Provide technical support for short‑term overseas assignments related to process development.
Key Qualifications / Requirements
  • PhD in Materials Engineering or a related field (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of resins, plastics, and composite materials, including fibre‑reinforced composites.
  • Familiarity with plastic forming processes such as injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, or other relevant manufacturing methods.
  • Understanding of plastic and composite forming equipment and process optimization is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in sustainable materials such as recycled plastics, bioplastics, or biomass‑based materials will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in material characterization (mechanical, thermal, physical/chemical, rheological properties).
  • Hands‑on experience in prototype fabrication and testing for property and performance evaluation.
