Master Planner/Planner – Oil and Gas Wireline Logging Tools

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Master Planner to join our team in the oil and gas wireline logging tools sector. This pivotal role will be responsible for establishing and managing a comprehensive global demand and planning system, ensuring optimized production, inventory, and supply across international markets. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of technical and industry expertise and be prepared to support global operations. Less experienced candidates are welcome to apply and will be considered for a locally oriented role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Demand and Production Planning: Develop and manage end-to-end demand forecasts and production plans tailored to the unique challenges of the oil and gas wireline logging tools sector. Adjust strategies in response to market volatility, inventory levels, and lead times to ensure consistent supply and readiness.
- Advanced System Implementation and Management: Design, implement, and manage a robust, industry-aligned demand and planning system (e.g., Odoo ERP modules). Maintain data accuracy, real‑time accessibility, and foster continuous improvement to support the company’s strategic objectives.
- Comprehensive Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate closely with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless alignment of production schedules with supply chain capacity. Optimize cost efficiency, lead times, and product availability across regions.
- Data-Driven Process Improvement: Leverage data analytics and predictive modeling to identify opportunities for improvement within planning operations. Implement changes that enhance efficiency, minimize costs, and improve responsiveness to demand fluctuations.
- Sector-Specific Market Analysis and Demand Forecasting: Conduct detailed analysis of market trends and demand indicators, such as rig count and oil prices, to proactively adjust planning strategies. Communicate insights with cross-functional teams and adapt plans as necessary.
- Supplier Relationship and Risk Management: Establish and maintain long-term supplier partnerships, implementing risk mitigation strategies to ensure reliability across global operations. Manage compliance with international trade regulations and oversee export/import logistics specific to oilfield tools.
- International Collaboration and Cross-Cultural Leadership: Engage and coordinate effectively with teams and suppliers globally, bridging cultural and linguistic gaps to ensure smooth communication and efficient coordination.
- Project and Risk Management: Utilize project management skills to oversee planning projects, ensure timely completion, and address risks related to lead times, supplier reliability, and geopolitical factors impacting global operations.
- Reporting and KPI Monitoring: Develop and present regular reports on planning activities, demand forecasts, inventory status, and key performance indicators to executive leadership, offering actionable insights for decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years in demand planning, production planning, or supply chain management, with a proven track record in the high mix low volume instrument manufacturing industry, particularly wireline logging tools for the oil and gas sector.
- Extensive experience implementing and managing global planning systems, with a preference for ERP experience.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in demand planning software, ERP systems, and data analytics.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of oilfield services market dynamics and demand forecasting specific to the sector.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities.
- Experience in supplier relationship management and international logistics compliance.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM, or CSCP).
- Prior experience in a bilingual role within a multinational oil and gas organization.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
