The Market Intelligence & Sales Associate Manager will support the Commercial Director and commercial teams in driving business growth by combining rigorous market intelligence, strategic analysis and customer engagement. In this role, you will synthesize diverse market data, and competitive data; identify emerging trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for the business. You will work cross-functionally closely with stakeholders across the organization to influence commercial decisions, shape strategy development, and support business planning. In parallel, the position requires active participation in customer prospecting, negotiations, and account management alongside the sales team.

This dual focus requires strong analytical capability, effective communication, commercial acumen, and the energy to engage directly with customers & internal stakeholders. The Associate Manager will play a key role in bridging insights with customer execution to help the company stay competitive and customer centric.

Key Responsibilities
Market Intelligence
  • Monitor oil, chemicals, and gases markets, including product shifts, competitor activities, regulatory developments and trends, communicating them to relevant stakeholders
  • Identify market opportunities and key trends through research and market intelligence, connecting the dots between market data and commercial recommendations
  • Supporting global market intelligence activities and contributing to the internal intelligence network with other global resources
  • Produce concise strategic briefs, market outlooks and scenario analyses for the Commercial Director and wider commercial teams
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
  • Respond to ad-hoc internal requests on markets/products, prioritizing and delivering within agreed timelines.
Sales & Customer Engagement
  • Prospect and qualify new customers in collaboration with the Commercial Director and Sales Managers
  • Participate in customer meetings, prepare proposals and support contract negotiations by using market intelligence likes data‑driven recommendation to strengthen value propositions
  • Maintain and update CRM (e.g., Salesforce) with accurate pipeline information and forecasting
  • Translate strategic and market insights into compelling customer‑facing talking points and value propositions
  • Support renewals and growth with existing clients by ensuring timely, solution‑oriented engagement
Cross-Functional Support
  • Liaise with Operations, HSSE, Maintenance, Finance and Legal to ensure offers are feasible and compliant.
  • Provide commercial input into brownfield projects (e.g., tank modifications, capacity upgrades).
  • Support the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis and strategic scenario inputs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field from a reputable university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting, strategy, public sector, commercial roles, or market intelligence, ideally in the petrochemical, petroleum, or energy sectors
  • Possesses knowledge in market intelligence, competitive analysis, and turning insights into actionable business strategies
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex market data, regulatory and competitive data
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Ability to perform under pressure, take responsibility for decisions, and drive execution across both strategic and operational initiatives

  • Official Working hours: Mon - Fri, 0830 - 1700 hours
