Job summary

A marine solutions provider based in Singapore is seeking a technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair boats and marine engines. The role involves providing technical support for navigational and communication equipment, conducting sea trials, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. The ideal candidate will have an ITE certificate or higher in engineering, experience with marine equipment, and strong analytical skills. This position offers the opportunity to work independently and travel overseas when needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ITE certificate/Diploma/Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic/Marine Engineering.
  • Experience with Marine Navigation and Communication Equipment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience in Radar and Ecdis systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair boats and marine engines.
  • Conduct sea trials and diagnostic tests to ensure proper functioning.
  • Provide service, commissioning and technical support for company and OEM navigational and communication equipment locally and overseas.
  • Provide advisory and coordinate work carried out by shipyards or contractors.
  • Maintain service logs and complete job documentation accurately.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Taking ownership and responsibility on assigned projects or service jobs, ensuring their adherence toward company standards.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum ITE certificate/ Diploma / Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic/Marine Engineering.
  • Experience in working with Marine Navigation and Communication Equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates with knowledge and experience in the Radar and Ecdis system are preferred.
  • Possess good command of the English language.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision, work after office hours and travel overseas when the need arises.
  • Capable of working effectively in challenging maritime conditions.
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
