Job description

What will you be doing?

As ourMarine Surveyor, you will be required to effectively manage your time throughout the execution of survey works and delivery of technical consultancy services as well as participation in business development activities as and when possible. In addition, you will:

  • Assist with full surveyor coverage within the area of operation.
  • Conduct consultancy and survey tasks for loss prevention and loss management works.
  • Familiarise with all aspects of the business line and key deliverables.
  • Attend casualty investigations and determine the nature, extent and cause of damage.
  • Estimate the costs of repairs and subsequently compile reports for clients.
  • Conduct marine warranty surveys as and when necessary.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures and policies.
  • Ensure all reports and other deliverables are completed and submitted within the agreed timeline.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure successful project completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage in marketing and business development activities to promote the ABL brand and relevant consultancy services.
  • Manage multiple ongoing issues and cases simultaneously.
  • Maintain billable utilisation above 60%.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Always comply with the company QHSE policies, manuals, procedures, work systems and regulations at ABL premises, projects and client sites.

The role is based inSingapore with the ability to work remotely as and when required. The candidate should have the right to live and work in Singapore, and involves onsite attendance, flexible hours, and travel on short notice across time zones.

Desirable:
  • Extensive experience in marine survey or consultancy.
  • Involvement in casualty response, claims processes, and root cause investigations.
  • Skilled in technical report writing for legal, insurance, or commercial purposes.
  • Knowledgeable in risk assessment and incident investigation techniques.
  • Strong industry network with established client relationships and technical credibility.
  • Confident communicator with senior stakeholders and comfortable presenting findings.
  • Willing to travel on short notice, including to remote or challenging environments; committed to continuous professional development.
