ARCADIA SHIPPING PTE. LTD. is seeking a seasoned Marine professional to support vessel vetting, inspections and safety compliance. The role covers coordinating external audits, attending vessels for pre-vetting checks, and following up on deficiencies to ensure timely closure.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years at sea, 3+ years as Chief Officer on Oil/Gas/Chemical Tankers, and hold a Chief Officer certificate or Master license. Willingness to travel is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years experience at sea.
  • Minimum 3 years sailing as Chief Officer on Oil/Gas/Chemical Tankers (parcel tanker preferred).
  • Hold relevant maritime certifications such as Chief Officer’s certificate or Master’s license.
  • Experience in Ship Vetting by majors, Ship and Terminal Operations.
  • Knowledge of maritime regulations.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating, arranging and timely follow up Vetting Inspections.
  • Attend vessels to conduct marine inspections and pre-vetting inspections; follow up deficiencies.
  • Conduct navigation audits and input results into databases with timely closure of deficiencies.
  • Assist in investigations and root cause analysis of accidents.
  • Be a member of ASL Emergency Response Team.

Job description

Marine
  1. Assist in coordinating, arranging and timely follow up Oil Major Vetting Inspections as directed.
  2. Attend vessels to conduct Marine Inspections and pre-vetting inspections or vetting assistance as directed. Ensure follow up of all deficiencies noted during vessel attendance is recorded and filed in the common drive.
  3. Conduct annual onboard navigation audits, preferably during a short voyage. Input navigation audit results into the navigation audits database and follow up on all deficiencies and defects to closure.
  4. Assist in the investigation and root cause analysis of accidents.
  5. A member of ASL Emergency Response Team.
  6. Assist in arranging external safety audits and onboard training by co-coordinating with the appointed audit or training company.
  7. Follow up in cosmetic upgradation (Painting)
  8. Monitor and support all vessels (In coordination with OPS) on operational issues (Loading / discharging / tank cleaning / grade change.
Quality and Compliance
  1. Assist in the implementation of ASL Ship Management’s Health, Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental Policies including sailing onboard for short voyages for onboard implementation of the HSSEQ System for new vessels.
  2. Assist in periodical management review of ASL HSSEQ system, record findings from the reviews and propose actions if necessary.
  3. Assist in maintenance and updating of the HSSEQ Management System.
  4. A member of the internal Marine & HSSEQ audit team.
  5. Assist in establishing annual ISM & ISPS audit plans, arrange and co-ordinate internal audits, take part in audits and follow-up correction actions.
  6. Assist in the investigation and root cause analysis of accidents, marine casualties and near misses.
  7. Assist in preparation, implementation and maintenance of office and vessel’s contingency plans.
  8. Liaise with the vessels in safety, navigation, operations, health, quality, security and environmental matters, including monthly response to vessels relating to Vessel Monthly Safety Reports and Near Miss Reports.
  9. Assist in reviewing all safety-related reports from the vessels and other similar reports from other sources.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years experience (at sea)
  • Minimum 3 year sailing experience as Chief Officer on Oil / Gas / Chemical Tankers (with a preference for sailing experience on parcel tankers)
  • Hold relevant maritime certifications such as Chief Officer’s certificate or Master’s license (added advantage)
  • Experience in Ship Vetting by majors, Ship and Terminal Operations
  • Knowledge of maritime regulations
  • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to travel
