Job summary

A marine management company in Singapore is searching for a Fleet Manager to handle fleet requisitions, monitor vessel consumables, and manage crew assignments. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in computer software. Responsibilities include sourcing and recruiting ship crews, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining crew documentation. This role requires 24/7 availability and coordinating medical appointments for crew members.

Qualifications

  • Relevant working experience in a similar capacity.
  • 24/7 availability and ability to board vessels on short notice.
  • Possession of Class 3 driving license is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Handle fleet requisitions and arrange deliveries to vessels.
  • Monitor vessel consumables to prevent wastage.
  • Keep track of cargo and lifting gears registry.
  • Arrange medical appointments for crew members.
  • Assist in employee contract preparation.
  • Prepare crew employment contracts.

Job description
  • Location: Jurong / West
  • Salary: $2,800 - $3,500
  • Working days: Monday - Friday
  • Working hours: 8:30am – 5.30pm
Responsibilities
  • Handling of the fleet requisitions, sourcing and making the necessary arrangement for delivery to the vessels
  • Monitoring and controlling of the vessels consumables to prevent unnecessary wastage
  • To keep track of the cargo hoses registry, lifting gears registry and PPE of all shipboard personnel
  • Monitoring of the vessels LSA and FFA
  • Appointed as safety committee member to carry out toolbox meetings for all the vessels
  • To arrange and co-ordinate between crew and clinic for medical appointment or consultation and monitoring of the vessels’ medical supplies as per statutory requirements
  • Preparation of crew employment contract
  • Application of flag state endorsements, Harbour craft licence renewal, etc, via MPA and Digiport, ensuring compliance with regulations of all relevant authorities and the certification of all vessels is maintained in accordance with the relevant Class and Flag State requirements
  • To maintain the personnel files for all crew members and ensure all member files are comprehensive with current documentation of crew credentials that being updated accordingly in a timely manner
  • To assist in planning and oversees the assignment of the officers and ratings for the fleet, crew change rotations, ensuring that rotations are executed in a timely basis, the vessels are properly manned and updated as per MPA requirements via Digiport
  • Sourcing, recruitment and carry out initial interview of the ship crews
  • Providing induction training/ orientation to all newly join ship crews
  • Providing general support to the ship staffs and making schedule visits to vessels for crewing matters
  • Any other fleet management related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the management
Job Requirements
  • Relevant working experience in similar capacity.
  • Possession of Class 3 driving license will be an advantage.
  • To be contactable 24/7 and be available to board the vessels as and when required
