Position Overview
As a post Marine Operations Executive, you will play a vital role in QHSE and Marina Operational aspects for fleet vessels. Reporting to the Team Manager - DPA/CSO, you will work in a dynamic and challenging environment to ensure the seamless execution of voyages including developing, maintaining and implementing Company Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Ship Management Systems (SMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct safety internal audits and vessel inspection to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Analyse data and performance metrics to track quality trends and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Facilitate training programs to promote quality awareness and best practices among staff.
- Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental hazards in the workplace.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and environmental conservation practices.
- Collaborate with operations teams to integrate QHSE principles into daily activities and decision-making processes.
- Support operational planning and execution by providing guidance on QHSE requirements and best practices.
- Monitor operational activities to ensure compliance with QHSE standards and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within operations.
- Act as a liaison between operations, QHSE, and other departments to facilitate communication and alignment of objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to QHSE activities, including incident reports, inspection findings, and corrective actions.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for management summarizing QHSE performance, trends, and initiatives.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QHSE processes and procedures.
- Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of QHSE programs to identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to QHSE.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders including clients and vendors to address QHSE concerns and requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Maritime or a related educational qualification.
- Certified ISO internal auditor with experience in conducting and leading internal audits.
- A willingness to learn and develop in the field of bulk carrier operations.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic proficiency in industry-specific software and systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive maritime environment.
Reporting Line
The Marine Operations Executive reports to the Team Manager - DPA/CSO.
