Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine NavCom Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of hands‑on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of a wide range of marine navigation and communication systems, including but not limited to MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, and maritime IT equipment. Additionally, knowledge in IT/networking and VSAT systems is essential for this role. A General Operator's Certificate (GOC) is recommended. The candidate should also possess a general understanding of marine electrical and electronics systems. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and service various marine navigation and communication systems including MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and inspections on installed systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous operation of onboard systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to onboard crew members regarding the operation and maintenance of navigation and communication systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate installations, upgrades, and repairs as needed.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, regulations, and technological advancements in marine navigation and communication systems.
  • Document all service activities, including installation procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions provided, accurately and comprehensively.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of marine navigation and communication systems.
  • Proficiency in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems.
  • Strong knowledge of IT/networking principles and protocols.
  • General Operator's Certificate (GOC) is recommended.
  • Familiarity with marine electrical and electronics systems is desirable.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently, including assignments at sea or in remote locations.
