Job summary
GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a Service Technician/Engineer (Marine Electronics Equipment) in the West of Singapore. The role focuses on repair, maintenance, and testing of ship navigation, communication, and satellite systems, including GMDSS and VSAT/TVRO, with involvement in installation projects and liaison with shipyards.
The ideal candidate has a Diploma/Degree in Electronics/Communication Engineering and 1–4 years of marine experience, with hands-on experience in marine
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Electronics/Communication Engineering is required.
- Hands-on experience with marine navigation, communication, and satellite systems (GMDSS, VSAT/TVRO, PAGA/PABX, radar, AIS, GPS, ECDIS).
- Strong knowledge of electronic troubleshooting, wiring, and system integration.
- Familiarity with commissioning, installation and maintenance of marine electronic systems.
- Understanding of networking and IP-based communication systems is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Involve in installation of marine electronics equipment on ships.
- Coordinate with shipyard for related projects.
- Assist in repair works in the workshop.
- Brief business partners on navigational/communication setups.
- Provide technical support for business partners.
- Prepare equipment reports for business partners.
