Job summary

Careers @ Focal Search is seeking a skilled marine/diesel engine mechanic to disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble engines and related equipment at client sites in Singapore. You will diagnose issues with supervision, use dial gauges, torque wrenches and other tools, and ensure adherence to drawings and manuals.

Travel to shipyards or boarding ships is required as part of project work. Maintain a safe workspace, participate in toolbox talks, and follow all safety regulations while

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience in industrial, marine, offshore, or diesel engine mechanical repair or servicing.
• The capacity and willingness to travel for work-related tasks, such as working in shipyards or boarding ships.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, reassemble and test diesel engines, parts and mechanical equipment.
• Assist supervisors and senior mechanics diagnose and fix mechanical issues.
• Use machinery, tools and measurement devices (dial gauges and torque wrenches) safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to engineering drawings and manuals during mechanical fitting, alignment and adjustment tasks.
• Keep work areas, tools and equipment safe, orderly and clean.
• Assist with project work at client locations, including shipyards or boarding ships as needed.
• Follow all safety regulations, attend toolbox talks and safety briefings, and report risks to supervisors.
• Wear proper PPE at all times.
