• Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, including underwriting and risk control.
• Provide insights and recommendations for improving claim policies and procedures, driving impactful claims initiatives.
• Oversee investigations of claims with moderate complexity, effectively managing liability and damages.
• Negotiate claims settlements, establish reserves, and authorize payments as necessary.
• Ensure proficient vendor management, particularly in litigious claims situations.
• Stay informed about industry trends, state regulations, and relevant issues.
• Contribute to the development of training materials and claim curricula.
• Serve as a key player in portfolio analytics within the claims department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in managing claims assessment, investigation, negotiation, and settlement specifically in marine insurance, including liability and fraud investigations.
• Strong technical knowledge of marine insurance, particularly Institute Time Clauses.
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements affecting the marine insurance sector.
