Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology in Singapore is seeking a Test Technician to perform machine testing, troubleshooting, and documentation within a cleanroom environment. The role includes reading drawings, following SOPs, and adapting to shift patterns (day and night) with overtime as required.

Candidates should have NITEC/Higher NITEC or a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Engineering and 2–4 years of relevant manufacturing/engineering experience.

• Able to communicate in simple English, both spoken and written.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation, data entry, and system updates.
• Hands-on experience in equipment assembly, manufacturing processes, and basic troubleshooting.
• Willing to commit to shift patterns (Day and night) and perform overtime when required.
• Able to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Machine Testing and Functional Verification according to approved procedures, OMS, SOP and WI.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues and identify root causes.
• Complete test logs, reports, and rework records; update test status in manufacturing systems.
• Follow latest OMS, SOP, WI, drawings, and engineering changes.

UCT is looking for a talented Test Technician to join us in Singapore!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Machine Testing and Functional Verification

• Perform functional testing, electrical testing, and operational verification of semiconductor machines according to approved test procedures, OMS, SOP, and Work Instructions (WI).

• Verify machine functions, sensors, motors, Robots , interlocks, and safety systems to ensure they operate according to specifications.

• Execute testing for different machine models and configurations before final quality inspection and shipment.

• Ensure all required testing activities are completed within the planned production schedule and shipment commitment.

2. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving

• Identify, diagnose, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues during machine testing.

• Analyze test failures and determine the root cause of equipment malfunctions.

• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Test Engineering (TE), and Quality Assurance (QA) to resolve technical issues.

• Perform retesting after corrective actions to verify that the identified issues have been properly resolved.

3. Test Documentation and System Updates

• Complete test logs, test reports, rework records, and other required production documentation.

• Update test status, test results, and relevant information in manufacturing systems as required.

• Ensure test records are accurate, traceable, and available for quality review and audits.

• Follow the latest approved OMS, SOP, WI, drawings, and engineering changes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Able to communicate in simple English, both spoken and written.

• Basic computer literacy for documentation, data entry, and system updates.

• Hands-on experience in equipment assembly, manufacturing processes, and basic troubleshooting.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.

• Adaptability to fast-paced production environments and changing priorities.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• NITEC / Higher NITEC/ Professional Certificate or its equivalent

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Engineering

Experience Requirement:

• Able to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings.

• Willing to commit to shift patterns (Day and night) and perform overtime when required.

• Able to carry heavy loads

• Willing to work in a cleanroom environment, including wearing jumpsuits, safety helmets, and safety shoes.

• Comfortable working in a rotating shift schedule.

• Responsible, self-motivated, and able to interact well with team members.

• Basic hands-on experience with assembly, testing, or manufacturing processes is preferred.

• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality standards consistently.

Work Experience:

• 2-4 years relevant experience in manufacturing/engineering industry

• Experience in equipment assembly, testing, or production processes is preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Work Environment:Clean room

Work Hours :08:30am – 05:30pm / 08:30pm – 05:30am

Physical Demands :able to carry up to 20kg – due to need to push the machines or carry the material parts to the station

Environmental Exposure:Capital equipment manufacturing with sophisticate system integration & testing
