Position Summary
The Manufacturing Technician 1 (MT1) is responsible for executing operational and Autonomous maintenance (TPM) activities, including cleaning, setup, operation and maintenance of equipment, assembly, formulation, packaging and inspection of finished products in compliance with cGMP, quality and safety requirements to achieve operational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of assigned manufacturing tasks to produce high quality products strictly following cGMP, Quality, Safety and Work instruction requirements
- Perform equipment setup and conduct functional testing prior to production
- Conduct quality inspections, checks, and verifications, and subsequently follow up on actions in accordance with work instructions
- Perform transactions in MES and ERP systems according to the work instructions
- Perform work order processing to complete products to inventory
- Perform kitting and other packaging functions
- Perform proper housekeeping and maintain cleanliness (6S) of the working area
- Use problem identification techniques to recognize common issues within work area under direct guidance and elevate any concerns
- Work in a team to meet daily production schedule, performance expectation and equipment efficiency, factoring in equipment availability with direct supervision
- Perform relevant autonomous management activities with direct supervision
- Support troubleshooting on simple issues associated to product, process and equipment with direct supervision
- Participate in 6S activities in work area to maintain the standards & discipline as part of continuous improvement processes
- Assist in incident investigation
- Perform periodic inventory check and cycle count activities with direct supervision
- Undertake safe and correct handling of common tools in accordance with their intended use and operating procedures to complete planned equipment maintenance schedule with direct supervision
- Identify types of hazards at workplace
- Ensure own certification and developmental plan are completed
- Take on additional tasks or responsibilities when required
Requirements
- Have a good understanding of Manufacturing/Enterprise systems/Manufacturing IOT and automations
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, Quality, work safety instructions & practices at all times
- Complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain a high level of discipline and integrity
- Undertake multiple tasks
- Undertake job rotation/cross training
- Work in a manufacturing production environment, including cleanroom, with possible exposure to chemical, cold room and loud noise
- Wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required
- Operate equipment and machinery such as forklift, scanner, power tools, etc
- Interpret common engineering safety and safeguarding practices with direct guidance
- Read and interpret common Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) with direct guidance
- Identify different colors for work purposes in Illumina and differentiate correct components/chemicals during operation
- Possess a positive attitude and sense of urgency
- Be meticulous, have keen attention to detail and be organized
- Work 12 hours per day (0800-2015 day shift or 2000-0815 night shift) with rotating shifts (four monthly rotations) and staggered breaks per roster
- Work standing for prolonged periods of time without sitting
- Lift 15kg or less of heavy weight safely
Preferred Experience, Education & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of operations experience for Secondary School or 3 years for ‘O’ Level or equivalent
- 0-1 year of operations experience for NITEC or equivalent
- Experience in GMP controlled manufacturing/production environment
- Knowledge in automation, IOT, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) (advantage for Formulation team)
- Education major in Science stream
- Experience in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical manufacturing production environment
- Experience handling enzymes, proteins and antibodies
- Experience using basic laboratory instruments (e.g. pH meter, conductivity meter, digital refractometer, osmometer, density meter, UV/Vis spectrophotometer, NanoDrop™ spectrophotometer, micropipettes, weighing balance)
- Experience using analytical instruments (e.g. Ultra/High performance liquid chromatography, ion chromatography, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry)
