Job summary

Amgen Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing System Engineer (DeltaV) to support design, maintenance, and lifecycle management of manufacturing automation systems in Singapore.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, change control, and collaboration with Quality, IT/OT, Maintenance, and Process Engineering teams. Qualifications

Responsibilities

Manufacturing System Engineer (DeltaV)

What you will do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will provide technical expertise to support the design, maintenance, optimization, and lifecycle management of manufacturing automation systems. You approved implementations within assigned scope, resolve moderate‑complexity issues, and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to improve system reliability, operational performance, and compliance with GMP, Good Engineering Practice (GEP), EHSS, and regulatory requirements. Provide day‑to‑day automation support, including troubleshooting, incident investigation, system monitoring, change implementation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders. Escalate and work closely with the Senior Manufacturing Systems on complex, high‑impact, or non‑routine issues. Assess, implement, test, deploy, and document automation changes in accordance with applicable SOPs and GMP requirements. Participate in technical discussions and provide technical assessment and advice within their assigned scope; engage the Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer for complex, high‑impact, or non‑routine changes. Support technical work and small‑to‑medium automation projects from design and risk assessment through commissioning, qualification, startup, and handover. Troubleshoot and investigate automation issues; prepare technical reports; implement technical solutions and CAPA actions; and identify recurring issues for improvement. Escalate complex issues to the Senior Automation Engineer. Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve automation‑system reliability, efficiency and compliance. Monitor and analyze established metrics; recommend and implement approved improvements. Promote Safety, Quality and Compliance culture and continuous improvement mindset that lead to plant safety, quality and compliance to regulatory requirement Support audits and inspections and participate in discussions within their assigned technical scope. Prepare and review technical specifications, test plans, change records, implementation plans, contingency measures, and as‑built documentation. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Process Engineering, IT/OT, EHSS and external service providers to execute operational activities, changes and technical issue resolution. Share technical knowledge and provide day‑to‑day guidance to junior engineers and contractors within their area of expertise.

What we expect of you

Master’s degree in in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Life Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Life Sciences and 2 years of directly related experience OR Associate’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Life Sciences and/or 6 years of directly related experience OR High school diploma in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Life Sciences / GED and 8 years of directly related experience Preferred 4+ years’ experience in manufacturing automation, particularly in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries Preferred 4+ years' experience in DeltaV Batch configuration and ISA-88 principles, including units, equipment modules, phases, recipes, and batch troubleshooting. Experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS system and ability to perform advanced troubleshooting, and system integration using OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, and Profibus technologies. Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes Experience applying GMP requirements through change controls, deviations, risk assessments, CAPA actions, data‑integrity practices, and inspection‑ready documentation. Experience in delivering automation project work packages, from requirements and design through testing, commissioning, handover, and closeout. Experience coordinating cross‑functional technical activities in a GMP manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of EHSS requirements Your selection for this role will be subject to fulfilling the medical requirements of this job scope.
