Job summary

A leading precision engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily production activities and ensure quality standards. Candidates should have 3-7 years of experience in precision machining, including CNC operations, and at least 2 years in a supervisory role. The ideal applicant must possess strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This role emphasizes maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description
Job Responsibilities
Production Management
  • Plan, schedule, and execute daily production activities.
  • Ensure production output meets quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
  • Monitor machine utilization, OEE performance, and capacity status.
  • Work closely with Production Control/Planning teams to align production loading.
Shopfloor Supervision
  • Lead and supervise machinists and technicians across CNC and manual processes.
  • Ensure proper setup, tooling, fixturing, and process control are in place.
  • Maintain shopfloor discipline and adherence to SOPs and work instructions.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all parts conform to drawing tolerances and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams on non-conformance handling and corrective actions.
  • Promote first-piece inspection, in-process checks, and patrol inspections.
Workforce Management & Training
  • Allocate manpower and oversee shift operations.
  • Train operators on machine operation, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and skill development.
Equipment & Maintenance
  • Ensure machines, tools, and gauges are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance teams for repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor tool wear and support planning for replacements.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce workplace safety practices and 5S standards.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards, customer requirements, and internal policies.
  • Support incident reporting and implement safety improvements.
Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in Lean, Kaizen, SPC, and waste-reduction initiatives.
  • Implement improvements in cycle time, setup time, and process stability.
  • Contribute to productivity and cost-reduction projects.
Job Qualifications
  • Diploma or technical qualification in Precision Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years’ experience in precision machining(CNC milling, turning, grinding, EDM) with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role.
  • Solid knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, including GD&T, and apply strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production reporting tools.
