Job summary

Applied Materials in Singapore is seeking a Quality Manager to lead daily manufacturing quality activities and ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and other teams to maintain the QMS, drive continuous improvement, and support operational excellence. Travel up to 10% may be required.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Quality and prior experience in semiconductor manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of QMS and quality processes.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in supervisory or team leadership roles.
  • Experience in semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily Manufacturing Quality operations to meet quality, production and business objectives.
  • Partner with managers across the organization to implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality procedures, standards and specifications.
  • Review customer requirements to ensure products and processes meet quality expectations.
  • Ensure processes comply with quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor quality performance through data collection and reporting of key quality metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance product quality, process effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve day-to-day quality, technical and operational issues.
  • Recommend process improvements and support corrective actions where required.
  • Provide training, tools and guidance to promote quality awareness across the organization.
  • Support internal, external and customer audits as required.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to address quality concerns and drive resolution.
  • Supervise, coach and develop a team of quality personnel.
  • Establish team priorities and ensure timely completion of daily activities and deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee development through coaching, feedback and performance management.

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading daily Manufacturing Quality activities and ensuring compliance with quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to maintain an effective Quality Management System (QMS), drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise daily Manufacturing Quality operations to achieve quality, production, and business objectives.
  • Partner with managers and stakeholders across the organization to ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Review customer requirements and ensure products and processes consistently meet quality expectations.
  • Ensure manufacturing and production processes comply with company quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor quality performance through data collection, analysis, and reporting of key quality metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process effectiveness, and operational efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality processes.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience within semiconductor, electronics, precision engineering, or high-volume manufacturing environments is an advantage.
