Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in assembly process development.
  • Strong knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SOP/WI, SPC, MSA, and DOE.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and BOMs.
  • Experience with MES or SAP and data-driven manufacturing reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Analyze current methods, identify improvements, and redesign processes to reduce waste and costs.
  • Develop process control techniques and simulation methods for stable production.
  • Support production to meet schedules by ensuring stable processes and performance.
  • Identify bottlenecks and evaluate metrics to drive improvements in UPH and OEE.
  • Analyze defects, drive COPQ reductions, and implement end-to-end corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation control, SOPs, PFMEAs, and process validation records.
  • Lead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC projects to raise process capability.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, and EHS for safety and compliance.

Your Job

Molex Singapore is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support our production operations within the DataCom and Specialty Solutions Division. In this role, you will drive process optimization, productivity improvement, yield enhancement, and operational excellence. You will work cross-functionally to develop sustainable manufacturing solutions, resolve process challenges, and support the successful transfer of new products into production while ensuring quality, safety, and operational performance.

Our Team

You will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, working closely with Operations, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, EHS, Product Engineering, and global partners. The team is focused on driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and sustainable manufacturing performance across our production operations.

What You Will Do
Supervisory Role (If Applicable)
  • Supervises Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Specialists while actively developing their talents and providing clear career growth path through individualized development plans.
  • Use PBM® as a framework and management philosophy to guide team on execution of responsibilities.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the appropriate knowledge and skills, consistent with the PBM® culture and Principles.
  • Train, coach and develop the team capable of managing projects independently, meeting individual project metrics.
  • Develop RR&Es (Roles, Responsibilities & Expectations) and maximize each employee’s contributions, making use of both quantitative and qualitative measures to monitor performance of team.
  • Provide coaching and feedback frequently to help each employee to improve their virtue and talent.
  • Recognize and reward individuals based on performance & contributions, and ensure the key employees are retained.
Process Development & Optimization
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Analyze current manufacturing methods, identify improvement opportunities, and redesign processes to reduce waste and costs.
  • Develop process control techniques and simulation methods to ensure stable, predictable, and efficient production.
Productivity & POEE
  • Support production to meet scheduled plans by ensuring stable processes, addressing operational challenges, and improving manufacturing performance.
  • Identify production line bottlenecks - such as equipment downtime, run rate inconsistency and WIP flow imbalance and evaluate key process metrics to drive improvements in POEE, UPH, and overall equipment utilization.
COPQ & Quality
  • Analyze defects, drive process improvements, reduce COPQ, and introduce new engineering technologies or solutions where appropriate.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive end-to-end corrective actions to eliminate defects at the source and prevent recurrence.
  • Take ownership of all quality and process-related issues at the responsible production area, working with cross‑functional teams to drive timely resolution.
Process Control & Documentation
  • Develop and implement sustainable process control (WI/SOPs, PFMEAs control plans and inspection checklists) to ensure operational discipline and compliance, and traceability.
  • Maintain robust documentation control system, ensuring proper storage, revision control and disposal of controlled documents, in compliance with TS16949 and regulatory requirements.
  • Support preparation, review, and validation of technical documentation for production processes.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead or participate in long-term improvement projects like ACT Projects, or short-term improvement like JDI.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and quality teams to enhance process capability and product quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC to enhance process stability, reduce variation, and improve yield.
Safety & Compliance
  • Partner with Operation, Planning, Maintenance, EHS to ensure reliability and safety by design.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational requirements for quality, safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Uphold professional integrity and adhere to the company’s Code of Ethics and MBM Guiding Principles.
Vertical Technology Integration
  • Engage in early process of technology integration framework from Design to Pilot to Mass Production.
  • Govern handover criteria from DPE to MPE, ensuring risk closure and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with DPE to ensure consistent standardization of equipment and spares, controls, vision systems, and process workflows.
  • Capture lesson learnt systematically & effectively and reapply across similar product or processes.
Horizontal Process Integration
  • Lead end‑to‑end alignment of process and inspection controls to meet key product functional requirements, ensuring component stability and robust process performance.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end analysis of component and assembly variations and implement data‑driven improvement strategies to achieve optimal product yield.
Others
  • Represent the department during customer, internal, or third‑party audits related to documentation, process control, and compliance.
  • Perform qualification for improvement of tooling, equipment, and process setups to ensure readiness for manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in assembly process development, process optimization, or manufacturing troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, SOP/WI, SPC, MSA, DOE, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and process capability.
  • Experience working with manufacturing systems such as MES, SAP, or production reporting platforms.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or hands‑on continuous improvement experience.
  • Mechanical design software experience or automation/control programming knowledge.
  • Experience with Power BI, Minitab, or other advanced analytics tools.
