Company Overview
We are a leading surface finishing company specialising in electroplating and anodizing for precision components used in electronics, aerospace, automotive, and general engineering industries. We are seeking a capable and results-driven Manufacturing Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, product quality, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations for the electroplating and anodizing departments to meet production, quality, and delivery targets.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules, manpower deployment, and resource allocation to ensure smooth workflow and optimal equipment utilisation.
- Monitor and control process parameters (e.g. bath chemistry, current density, temperature, and cycle times) to maintain consistent surface finishing quality.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues, process deviations, and equipment downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, yield, cost reduction, and waste minimisation (e.g. 5S, Kaizen, Lean practices).
- Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) regulations, particularly chemical handling, waste treatment, and effluent management.
- Oversee chemical inventory, material usage, and plating/anodizing bath maintenance and replenishment.
- Train, guide, and motivate production supervisors and operators to achieve performance goals and develop technical competencies.
- Review and analyse production performance data; prepare regular manufacturing reports and recommend improvement actions.
- Support new product introductions and process optimisation in collaboration with R&D or process engineering teams.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or production management within an electroplating, anodizing, or surface finishing environment.
- Strong understanding of plating and anodizing operations, bath chemistry control, process flow, and quality standards.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities; experience supervising production teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands‑on problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 systems, and experience maintaining compliance with EHS regulations.
- Good communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Willingness to work on‑site and support shift or weekend operations when necessary.
