Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Exposure to machining of complex parts for oil & gas equipment is preferred.
  • Understanding of ANSI, ASME Standards and API Products requirements is an advantage.

Job description
Manufacturing Engineer (Machining)

This position reports to the Production Manager and is responsible to provide support to the machine shop and subcontract vendors on complex machining methods for both Premier Hytemp Singapore and Malaysia. Technical support may involve design tooling, fixtures, and machining methods for complex features and new product qualifications. The Manufacturing engineer is responsible to lead acquisition and implementation of latest technology (machines) to improve capability and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluation of complex machine drawings for manufacturing
  • Propose and implement tooling & fixtures for machining of complex features
  • Support Manufacturing team on new product qualifications and ensure manufacturing is achieving most optimized and competitive hours
  • He or she must have strong knowledge on CNC machining process with strong understanding and capability to design fixture or use on best tooling to achieve optimized and competitive machining capability
  • Work with Procurement team to develop strategic sub-con machining supplier
  • Source and develop new relevant and good machining vendors to company’s approved vendor list
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure supplier passes first article approvals
  • Involved in daily MRB (Material Review Board) meeting to provide technical input for jobs when non-conformance occurs
  • Continuously seek and work on cost savings and new customer development projects
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Exposure to machining of complex parts for oil & gas equipment is preferred
  • Understanding of ANSI, ASME Standards and API Products requirements is an advantage
  • Proficient in design and programming software like AutoCAD, Solidworks & MasterCam etc
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, team player, energetic and willing to work hard
  • The candidate needs to be self motivated with positive attitude and seek career growth
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
