Job summary

A leading scientific instruments company in Singapore is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead strategic quality and productivity initiatives. The ideal candidate has 8-10 years in manufacturing engineering, preferably in analytical instruments, and possesses strong project management and analytical skills. Responsibilities include leading product transfer projects and improving operational efficiencies through innovative engineering solutions.

Qualifications

  • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering in the analytical instruments industry.
  • Experience in NPI and product transfers preferred.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing processes of analytical instruments like ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC, AAS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NPI and Product Transfer projects to successful completion.
  • Drive yield improvement and reduce COPQ through automation.
  • Identify and propose engineering opportunities including EOL management.

Job description
Summary

Identify, develop and drive strategic engineering initiatives particularly in relation to Quality, Cost, Productivity improvement. Lead NPI and Product Transfer Projects to successful completion.

Key accountabilities
  • Responsible for site Engineering activities, identify and propose opportunities including Out/In-sourcing ideas, EOL management, alternate sourcing and others
  • Lead NPI and Product Transfer projects to successful completion
  • Initiate value engineering projects to enhance operational capabilities to meet new business needs and raise operational efficiency
  • Lead material localization projects for improvements in product cost, quality and operational excellence
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to understand engineering related issues in order to provide effective solutions
  • Drive yield improvement, reduce COPQ and drive shopfloor productivity through automation and process enhancement
  • Improve site Safety through hazard identification and prevention
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Science disciplines
  • At least 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering in Analytical instruments industry
  • Experience in NPI and product transfers is preferred
  • Knowledge in manufacturing process of analytical instruments such as Inductively Coupled Plasma- Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), Inductively Coupled Plasma- Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Gas Chromatography (GC), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)
  • Good oral and written communications
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Project Management experience and leadership skills
  • Strong drive for results, balanced with effective decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodology
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
