Early Childhood Music Educator (Mandarin)

Multiple Preschool Locations Across Singapore | Full-Time/ Part-Time / Contract (Min. 3 Days/Week)

About Us

The Music Scientist is an award-winning music enrichment provider that integrates Music, Movement, Storytelling and Discovery of the World to nurture children’s curiosity and creativity. Our programmes are designed for infants to 6-year-olds, making learning joyful through songs, rhythm, and discovery-based experiences.

We are expanding our team of Outstation Teachers who are passionate about bringing engaging Chinese Music & Movement lessons to preschools across Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Storytelling, Puppetry Showcase, Music and Movement lessons curated by The Music Scientist for children aged 4 months to 6 years.
• Deliver lessons in Mandarin (Chinese) with energy, clarity, and warmth.
• Guide children in instrument, percussion, and prop play, as well as dance and expressive movement.
• Guide children in craft and cognitive hands-on activities.
• Participate in teacher training sessions conducted by The Music Scientist or other recognised Early Childhood/Music Institutes.
• Prepare and maintain teaching resources and materials.
• Travel to various preschools across Singapore to conduct lessons (teaching hours between 4pm – 7pm).
• Attend to photo-taking and documentation of class activities.
• Provide assessment reports on students’ progress (template provided).
• Build positive relationships with preschool principals, teachers, and students.
• Ensure the confidentiality of all lesson materials, songs, and proprietary resources.
• Collect and return teaching materials from The Music Scientist centres when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Music, Performing Arts, or related fields (Preferred)
• 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
• Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is essential.
• Enjoys working with young children and creating joyful learning environments.
• Passionate about music, movement, and creative teaching.Confident, lively, and able to engage groups of children.
• Willingness to travel islandwide.
• Minimum commitment for Part-time arrangement: 3 days per week, each with 1–3 hours of teaching.
• Contract duration: 2 years.
