About Oracle's Data Center and Networking Legal Team:

The Data Center and Networking legal team within Oracle's legal department is responsible for providing legal support for complex data center transactions with data center providers including leasing, power & energy and networking. Managing counsel works closely with Oracle executives to complete agreements between Oracle and its providers. Managing counsel coordinate the efforts of various internal organizations to ensure that Oracle contracts comply with company policies,and take a leadership role in defining policies, practices, and procedures within the company.

As an individual contributorinthe Data Center and Networking legal team, you willjoin a collaborative group of attorneys with an interesting and diverse technology law practice focusing on transactions involving data center development, acquiring and leasing real property for data center development, including power and energy requirements, site selection, land use, permitting and zoning, construction contracts, the deployment of fiber connectivity, and negotiation of power purchase agreements, to support the center.

Accordingly, this position is best suited to an attorney with significant commercial negotiating and contracting experience who can manage a variety of tasks, evaluate alternatives quickly, and provide top quality legal assistance and support to executive-level clients.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant legal experience with technology, telecommunications, data center operations, power and energy sector (renewable, traditional, utilities, transmissions, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience advising on legal and regulatory issues related to data centers, cloud infrastructure, network connectivity, and interconnection agreements.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative, and dynamic team environment.
  • Admission to practice law in the applicable region.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy regulatory bodies (e.g., FERC, DOE, state-level agencies) and relevant legislation.
  • Track record handling due diligence and risk assessment in power and energy transactions.
