Job summary

IMDA in Singapore is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Architect to lead evaluation of innovative tech products for government and enterprise stakeholders. The role focuses on risk assessments, secure architectures, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

You will design test plans, perform security assessments including pen testing and code reviews, and advise on secure deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Strong communication with founders and engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information systems or Cybersecurity.
• Minimum 5 years in cloud architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity or related fields.
• Broad knowledge of Enterprise Software, AI/GenAI, Cybersecurity, Cloud and IoT.
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP and enterprise security frameworks.
• Relevant cloud security certifications (CISSP/CCSP) advantageous.
• Experience with Singapore public-sector security benchmarks (IM8, GCC) advantageous.

What the role is

This role sits within the Enterprise Transformation & Innovation Group (ETIG), which drives enterprise digital transformation and innovation by accelerating technology adoption, supporting high-growth tech companies, and strengthening Singapore's digital ecosystem.

The IMDA Accreditation and Spark programmes seek to nurture and grow promising Singapore-based digital technology companies at different stages of growth. If you have an interest and passion for innovative and emerging digital technologies and can communicate with senior executives of high-growth digital tech startups, we'd like to have a chat with you.

You will be part of Enterprise & Ecosystem Development, a dynamic team made up of independent and self-motivated individuals who work closely with senior executives of best-in-class tech startups to evaluate and onboard them into the Accreditation and Spark programmes. Leveraging your expertise in innovative tech QA, you will perform rigorous product and company due diligence to ensure market readiness.

Through strong product assurance, validated test performance, and strategic testing frameworks, you will build buyer confidence, drive commercial outcomes, and help Singapore-based technology companies scale both locally and internationally in partnership with industry leaders, enterprise buyers, and government agencies.

What you will be working on

Drive technical evaluation and risk assessments of innovative tech products to assure product quality and reliability for government and enterprise stakeholders: Conduct deep-dive of product to identify key tech differentiators and core product capabilities.

Design risk-based test plans covering functionality, performance, scalability, security, reliability, maintainability, and usability.

Perform technical evaluation (including penetration testing and source-code scan), and conduct interviews to validate product performance.

Provide architectural advisory to tech companies on robust and secure architectures, with prospective government and enterprise buyers: Review product architectures according to Government Cloud security standard and industrial best practices.

Advise companies on secure and scalable deployment on Government Commercial Cloud and public cloud across AWS, Azure, GCP.

Assess and deliver actionable remediation strategies for identified security and technical gaps.

Manage and enhance Government and Enterprise cloud sandboxes infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) supporting government and enterprise POCs: Onboard companies and guide secure product deployment for successful POC evaluations.

Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, security and deployment issues/bottlenecks.

Implement reusable architecture patterns, security guardrails and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation using tools like Terraform.

Continuously monitor security posture, platform health, cloud utilisation and expenditure to ensure scalable, compliant and cost-effective operations.

Build trusted relationships with founders, CEOs, CTOs, engineering teams, cloud providers, government agencies and enterprise technology leaders; Translate complex technical findings with clarity to technical and business stakeholders.

What we are looking for

• Academic
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information systems, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred
• Experience
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, solution architecture, or related technical domains.
• Broad knowledge in emerging technologies, including Enterprise Software, AI/GenAI/Agentic systems, Cybersecurity, Cloud and IoT, etc.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP, modern application architecture, and enterprise security frameworks.
• Proven track record in reviewing application architectures, conducting security assessments, and evaluating technical risks.
• Relevant AWS, Azure, GCP, CISSP/CCSP, Kubernetes, cloud security certifications are advantageous.
• Experience with Singapore public-sector security benchmarks, including IM8, GCC, and related government requirements is highly advantageous.
