The Business Development Manager – Research Partnerships will play a strategic role in advancing the medical school’s research mission by identifying, cultivating, and managing collaborative opportunities with industry, government agencies, academic institutions, and nonprofit organizations. This role is key to expanding the school's research portfolio, attracting external funding, and driving innovation through multidisciplinary partnerships.

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan for research-focused partnerships aligned with institutional goals.
  • Being the main POC for the core facilities, including leading of their annual budget review exercise and acting as the liaison between the cores and research office management.
  • Leading strategic planning for the cores by conducting appropriate scans and compilation of business intelligence to enhance visioning and forecasting

Requirements*

  • A Good Degree in life sciences. A higher degree (Masters/PhD) is an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of research administration and prior working experience with sales techniques would be an advantage
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources
  • A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
