Job description

This position is for PaxOcean Group, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited.

Position Summary

Lead and provide technical and managerial oversight to the Mechanical Engineering Department.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Assist GM/ SGM in day-to-day operation.
  • Provide technical guidance, rules & regulatory updates and training to team members.
  • Provide technical assessment and review for tender projects.
  • Resource planning/ manning to ensure optimise manpower utilisation.
  • Undertake Technical lead role in newbuilding and/or Conversion/ Retrofit project.
  • Conduct equipment technical assessment and manage vendor relationships.
  • Oversee equipment layout, ensuring proper integration with other vessel systems.
  • Manage vendor coordination and integration with other disciplines.
  • Review and verify equipment capacity sizing and system interface.
  • Ensure smooth interfacing for 3D modeling for HVAC, piping and machineries with other disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, design house and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of design & engineering experience of machineries, piping and HVAC systems for ship building, conversion and retrofit projects in the marine/ offshore industry. Have embarked on leadership roles for at least 5 years leading a team of no less than 8 persons.
  • Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline.
  • Possess good communication & interpersonal skills, project management and excellent leadership.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD/ Microsoft Office/ Tribon/ AVEVA. CADMATIC is a plus.
  • Familiar with Shipbuilding & Offshore industry standards and practices & Classification Rules and National Authority Regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge (including calculation) and experience on the design of marine system, piping and HVAC.
