Job summary

IMD Info-communications Media Development Authority seeks an experienced investigator to lead regulatory investigations, advise on penalties, and support court proceedings. The role involves drafting charges, statements, and papers, and assisting in case preparation for prosecution.

You will review penalty frameworks, design case management workflows, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining high analytical and written-communication standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in investigations, regulatory, or legal analysis.
• Experience in supervisory/managerial role preferred.
• Experience as IO, with evidence collection, interviews, statements, and investigation papers.
• Capability or interest in digital forensics.
• Strong analytical, communication and writing skills; meticulous with detail.

• Investigate non-compliance with directions, licence conditions, content codes and relevant legislation administered by IMDA.
• Recommend appropriate penalty for contraventions and take follow up action.
• For cases to be prosecuted in court, prepare draft charges, statement of facts, and investigation papers. Assist external legal counsel in preparation of case for court proceedings, attend court proceedings, and testify as a prosecution witness as needed.
• Assist to develop and review penalty frameworks (as required).
• Assist in the conduct periodic review , design, and implement case management system and review existing investigation processes and workflows (as required)

[What we are looking for]

• 5 years of experience in investigations, regulatory, legal and/or analysis. Experience in a supervisory/managerial role preferred.
• Prior experience in investigation, especially as an IO, and proficiency in investigative techniques such as collection of evidence, conducting interviews, recording of statements, and putting up investigation papers.
• Capability in digital forensics or interest to acquire skills.
• Strong analytical, communication and writing skills
• Meticulous with an eye for detail.
