A leading investment management firm in Singapore seeks a Manager for Global Data & Application Support. This role encompasses leadership of a technology team and operational responsibilities across APAC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application support and data management, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and compliance with regional regulations. The Manager, Global Data & Application Support – APAC, serves as both a functional leader and the regional Head of Technology for APAC. This role is a player‑coach responsible for the day‑to‑day management and operational support of Global Data & Application services, overseeing a team of seven analysts across the region. In addition to leading application and data support, the role represents all of Technology within APAC, ensuring the global technology strategy is well understood, effectively executed, and tailored to regional needs. The manager will participate in the Global Technology Leadership Team and act as a bridge between APAC leadership and global technology domains, bringing a broad understanding of areas such as security, user experience, infrastructure, workplace technology, and application strategy.
The ideal candidate combines deep operational experience with strong regional leadership presence, capable of articulating global priorities to APAC executives while elevating regional requirements and perspectives for global consideration.
Represent APAC business needs to the Technology Leadership team and, in partnership with senior stakeholders, champion regional priorities and execution.
Serve as technology’s voice in Management Committee, APAC Leadership Team, and APAC Risk Committee; provide updates to APAC boards, regional townhalls, and MIC reporting for HK/SG.
Share high‑level updates on global technology strategy (InfoSec, Infrastructure, Applications, Workplace Tech, AI); translate strategy into holistic APAC plans with measurable outcomes.
Identify and mitigate gaps where global coverage does not meet regional needs (e.g., Copilot/workplace tech resourcing); drive adoption through newsletters, enablement, and regional training.
Benchmark against regional peers; provide insights on market/client needs and APAC’s competitive stance.
Build collaborative partnerships with leaders across the Investment Platform and Client Platform; deeply understand business requirements to influence strategy and technology use.
Oversee the APAC technology team (~20 professionals and growing); coach senior direct/matrix reports across IT Services in APAC.
Motivate and retain talent; advocate for career development, stretch assignments, and visibility; cultivate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Maintain strong risk and control discipline; act as the centralized escalation point for APAC technology issues and strengthen connections with business stakeholders across 5 offices.
Lead and mentor the APAC team of Application & Data support specialists; align regional teams to global standards and best practices.
Establish and enforce incident, problem, and change management (ITIL) processes; define and monitor global SLAs; drive automation and efficiency.
Oversee day‑to‑day support for critical front‑office data and applications spanning Enterprise Batch, ABOR, IBOR, Reference Data & Pricing, Trading, Post‑Trade Ops, Guideline Monitoring, Investor Applications.
Act as primary liaison between IT and business units; deliver clear, timely communications to senior leadership on system performance, operational risk, and remediation.
Coordinate with vendors/third parties for escalations; manage budgets, consultant staffing, and vendor relationships; supervise and direct employees and consultants.
Strengthen crisis/major‑incident response and cross‑regional communications; partner with Enterprise Resilience, Risk, Legal, and Compliance as needed.
Ensure APAC regulatory expectations are understood within technology teams (e.g., Singapore MAS 1‑hour notification requirements for critical technology disruptions); uphold disciplined reporting across committees/boards.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
8+ years in application support, data management, or IT operations; 3+ years in a leadership role managing regional teams.
Strong knowledge of enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, BI) and data governance; familiarity with the ITIL framework and service management tooling.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Results‑oriented leader with a proven record of leading regional and global technology initiatives in complex, regulated environments.
Industry understanding of asset management—ideally via investment banking or similar—covering markets, securities, and associated operational functions.
Familiarity with practices around multi‑asset strategies, privates/alternatives, distribution, and sustainability.
Strong technical acumen (e.g., prime services or front‑office platform experience); proven oversight of application and support teams aligned to business lines.
Exceptional stakeholder management—able to collaborate, negotiate, and influence across senior forums and committees.
