Job summary

A government agency in Singapore is seeking a professional to provide governance for geospatial data policies and develop applications in support of operational needs. The role involves managing the Central Geospatial Data Depository trial and implementing AI and Machine Learning technologies. Ideal candidates will possess a relevant degree, have experience in GIS/data governance, and be prepared to work extended hours if required. Shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Qualifications

  • Education preferably in Geospatial Sciences, Applied Geographic Information System, or similar.
  • Prior experience in GIS or data governance, preferably in Homeland Security.
  • Good understanding of Geospatial and GIS applications.

Job description
What the role is:

You provide governance for Geospatial data policies and standards, in accordance with Ministry of Home Affairs and MINDEF/Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) requirements. You also manage the Central Geospatial Data Depository trial and develop new geospatial prototype products and applications in support of evolving operational needs.

What you will be working on:
  • Provide governance for Geospatial data policies and standards
  • Manage Central Geospatial Data Depository trial
  • Identify and implement suitable Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) applications and tools in support of evolving operational needs
  • Manage partnerships and stakeholders
Challenge(s)

Ensuring seamless application and data interoperability between MINDEF/SAF and stakeholders.

Managing delivery timelines to stakeholders to fulfil operational requirements.

What we are looking for:
  • Education in relevant discipline preferably in Geospatial Sciences, Applied Geographic Information System, Civil Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science or Geography
  • Prior working experience in Geospatial/Geographic Information System (GIS)/Data governance and relevant experience in Homeland Security domain is advantageous
  • Proficiency and good understanding of Geospatial and GIS applications
  • General understanding of Homeland Security Operations
  • Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preparedness to work extended hours in event of contingency (Applicants with no experience may apply.)
