Manager, Facilities, Safety & Environmental (EHS)
Are you passionate about creating a safe, efficient, and well-maintained workplace? We are looking for an experienced Manager, Facilities, Safety & Environmental (EHS) to lead our Facilities and EHS functions, ensuring our manufacturing operations run safely, reliably, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will be a key member to drive operational excellence, workplace safety, sustainability initiatives, and facility reliability while supporting the company's growth and long-term success.
What You’ll Do
Facilities Management
Lead the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all site facilities, utilities, and infrastructure, including:
- HVAC and chilled water systems
- Compressed air systems
- Electrical distribution systems (LV)
- Standby generators and UPS systems
- Building Management System (BMS)
- Fire protection systems
- Water treatment and wastewater systems
- Lifts, hoists, and lighting systems
- Building infrastructure and office facilities
- Production CNC machine maintenance programmes
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programmes
- Improving facility reliability and equipment uptime
- Managing service contracts, vendors, and contractors
- Monitoring utility consumption and driving energy-saving initiatives
- Preparing maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans
- Leading office renovation, facility upgrades, and plant expansion projects
Workplace Safety & Health (WSH)
Champion a strong safety culture across the organisation by:
- Ensuring compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and related regulations
- Developing and implementing WSH policies, procedures, and programmes
- Leading Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP)
- Managing Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits, and safety reviews
- Investigating accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences
- Driving corrective and preventive actions through root cause analysis
- Monitoring safety KPIs and reporting performance to management
- Leading monthly Safety Committee meetings and continuous safety improvement initiatives
Environmental Management
Support the organisation's sustainability and environmental compliance efforts by:
- Managing hazardous waste disposal and chemical handling programmes
- Monitoring wastewater discharge requirements
- Coordinating recycling and waste reduction initiatives
- Supporting sustainability and carbon reduction projects
- Managing environmental monitoring and compliance programmes
Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness
Serve as the site coordinator for fire safety and emergency response by:
- Managing fire protection systems and inspections
- Coordinating annual Fire Certificate requirements
- Conducting fire drills and emergency exercises
- Maintaining Emergency Response Plans (ERP)
- Leading the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
- Liaising with relevant authorities during inspections and emergencies
Security Management
Oversee site security activities including:
- Security guard services
- CCTV and access control systems
- Visitor and contractor management
- Asset protection programmes
- Security incident investigations
Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements by:
- Managing licences, permits, inspections, and audits
- Coordinating submissions with relevant government authorities
- Maintaining statutory records and compliance documentation
- Supporting business continuity and operational risk management initiatives
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Facilities and EHS team
- Establish and monitor departmental KPIs
- Manage departmental budgets and resources
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain teams
- Foster a proactive culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related discipline
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in Facilities and EHS within a manufacturing environment
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory position
Preferred Certifications
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO)
- Fire Safety Manager (FSM)
