We undertake investment promotion and industry development, and work with international businesses, both foreign and local, by providing information, connection to partners and access to government incentives for their investments. Our mission is to create sustainable economic growth, with vibrant business and good job opportunities for Singapore.

About the Environmental Sustainability Division

The Environmental Sustainability division in EDB charts the vision and strategy for Singapore to transit to a low‑carbon economy and leverage environmental sustainability trends as a growth engine. We also develop and execute national and ecosystem‑level strategies to improve Singapore’s competitiveness in energy, chemicals and materials, and identify new growth opportunities in these industries. To achieve this mission, we undertake research, analysis and solutions development in close partnership with others teams in EDB, as well as external stakeholders in government and industry.

What you will be working on

This is primarily an individual contributor role. With guidance from the Vice President / Assistant Vice President, you will contribute to the development of Singapore's agrifood industry as an economic growth engine, in the following manner:

  • Strategy and industry development: You will contribute to strategic reviews and studies on how to better position Singapore to capture economic opportunities in the agrifood sector. You will conduct in‑depth analyses of global trends, technologies and business models in the agrifood sector to derive relevant insights and implications for Singapore. This could include assessing emerging segments such as precision fermentation, or sustainable aquaculture, and their economic potential for Singapore. You will recommend actions needed to position Singapore competitively and attract high‑value agrifood activities.
  • Account management: You will serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of major agrifood companies. You will engage with these companies to understand their business strategies, investment plans and operational needs, and work to facilitate new investments and expansions in Singapore. This includes coordinating across EDB teams and government agencies to address company requirements and remove barriers to investment.
  • Develop and execute: You will work closely with key companies, teams in EDB and relevant external partners in government and industry to design and develop value propositions to anchor agrifood economic activities in Singapore. You will also work with both internal stakeholders as well as industry and government agency partners to execute these value propositions through initiatives, policy changes and programmes that strengthen Singapore's agrifood ecosystem. This includes ensuring the availability of critical enablers such as talent, R&D capabilities, supplier networks, customer access and financing options.
