Who We Need

The Brand and Communications department under the Corporate Development division is responsible for upholding Mount Alvernia Hospital’s (MAH) brand position to achieve brand retention, brand affiliation and heightened awareness of MAH as a general tertiary hospital.

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Manager, Brand and Communications to lead and head the department. This leadership role requires someone who can help steer MAH’s overall brand and communications direction set by the Division Director, champion the hospital’s brand identity across all platforms, and oversee communication efforts to effectively engage both targeted audiences and the wider public through traditional and digital media. The incumbent must be well-versed in all key pillars of brand and communications management such as brand and communications strategies, crisis communications, visual imagery, design and layout, digital/social media management, press relations, and events management.

Your key responsibilities are:
  • Report to the Division Director.
  • Lead the Brand and Communications department, including overseeing and developing team members.
  • Manage the overall brand and communications presence that is in line with MAH’s identity and roots.
  • Heighten brand awareness to achieve public brand retention and affiliation.
  • Establish and execute brand and communications strategies and workplan that are in line with our Hospital’s overall goals.
  • Serve as the brand custodian to uphold brand consistency and ensure that MAH is presented in the best possible light.
  • Create engaging content to be delivered across all publicity platforms.
  • Ensure print, digital and social media platforms are active and up-to-date.
  • Be well-versed in the digital and social media landscape and know-how.
  • Monitor the print, digital and social media landscape to keep abreast of the current trends and help us maintain strong presence in the print and social media space.
  • Draft public communication content such as speeches, messages, notifications, advisories and articles for publication.
  • Project management and production of all hospital collateral such as print collateral, publications, video clips, photography, visual imagery etc. from conception to completion.
  • Cultivate and maintain good media relationships.
  • Prepare report, budget and manpower status for submission prior to meetings.
  • Establish workflows, policies and procedures to achieve workplan.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all brand and communications matters.
How to Succeed
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience, including experience in a leadership or managerial role, with a Degree in Mass Communications / equivalent.
  • A strong team-player, self-starter with strong sense of initiative, agility and perseverance in delivering quality work within the set deadlines.
  • Possesses good interaction skills with the ability to relate to people from all walks-of-life.
  • Meticulous and organised to execute various projects and activities simultaneously.
  • Able to adapt to unexpected changes within tight deadline.
  • Able to communicate effectively across diverse groups and generations.
  • A strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Deep understanding of the digital and social media platforms.
