The ABS Academy Manager is responsible for defining the content for e-learning, web-based, classroom-based (live & virtual), case studies, structured on-the-job training, blended learning, and social learning technologies and solutions for the marine ship and offshore industry. The role will work closely with instructional designers, multimedia staff, and subject matter experts (SMEs) and / or act as subject matter expert (SME) when necessary to develop best-in-class learning. This role may also require work with Training Solutions to deliver training to external clients as necessary.
What You Will Do
- Facilitate LO programs as necessary including ILT, VILT, and cohorts.
- Support multidisciplinary team to design and develop highly professional and engaging training projects and communications according to the project scope as necessary.
- Verify the technical accuracy of content in learning deliverables.
- Provide the multimedia team with detailed graphic design instructions and storyboards as necessary.
- Keep the Senior Manager, Learning Content Management advised of assigned development progress and issues that may affect quality or schedule.
- Responsible for various financial aspects of the appointed ABS Academy including invoicing and inter-departmental billing, budget resource plan,and monthly operating report forecast (MORF).
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise as necessary in the development and facilitation of employee training programs.
- Ensures recommendationsare made to keep theABS Academy organized,properly staffed and operatingefficiently.
- Keep local Management informed of learning programs carried out within the Academy.
- Keep Lead, Learner Experience informed of performance and activities for local Producers.
- Oversees the instructor coordination, reproduction of learning material, handling, storage, packaging, and delivery of learning materials for each curriculum delivery.
- Maintains training materials in accordance with applicable quality procedures.
- Support ABS employee learning and development objectives as needed.
- Seeks continual improvement to the ongoing training operations.
- Communicate feedback with ABS employees, assuring satisfaction with the learning content and resolving problems as they arise.
- Ensures that ABS Quality System requirements are fulfilled. Participates in internal and external audits. Maintains quality records and procedures for the ABS Academy in accordance with ABS Quality System and keeps familiar with Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System updates.
- Supports execution for the delivery of client training and training approval / certification programs as necessary.
- Maintain client relationships through delivery of training programs in a creative, impactful, and top-quality manner – across multiple clients and multiple business units as necessary.
What You Will Need
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in Engineering or other technical disciplines.
- A minimum of to years of experience employed by a marine classification society, in technical service development, engineering, or in-service survey.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Technical knowledge in the areas of ABS survey requirements. Audits experience is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of MS Office applications.Ability to learn additional programs as required.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to organize direct and motivate personnel at various levels. Must be able to assume a high level of individual responsibility.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
